Hardie Boys was a client I worked with while working for The SilverLogic. They needed an all-in-one app to manage their operations, from the architecture and manufacture industry.

Context
Need
HB Elements is a manufacturer of PVC exterior architectural trim, custom millwork, and moulding, designed for use with their proprietary installation system. They used to spend too much time across multiple platforms and giant spreadsheets on Miro, Clickup and Excel, no automated or optimized tools.
Process
Product discovery, user journey, wireframing, validations and prototyping. The time we took building this platform was around 8 months with deliveries completed by sprints. I was also present in meetings with the client and working closely with the developers. The language and frameworks we used were: Python, NextJS, JavaScript and React.
Outcome
Optimized operations at an all-in-one platform, integration with NetSuite to track sales orders, work orders, and project progress across design, manufacturing, and shipping.
Key Features
When I joined the project, another product designer - Ivan de Castro - had already started building the visuals of the platform according to our internal Design System called BaseApp. When I assumed the project's design it was already a few weeks long.
Our focus was on:
Sales Order & Workflow Tracking – Syncs with NetSuite to monitor order status and progress across all stages.
Project Management Tools – Kanban boards and project dashboards provide a high-level view of project statuses and completion percentages.
Automated Scheduling & Resource Allocation – The system schedules items based on department bandwidth, due dates, and priorities to ensure an optimized workflow.
CNC Programming Queue Management – A dedicated dashboard prioritizes and schedules CNC machine work orders for efficient production.
Production Calendar & Cost Tracking – Tracks time spent in manufacturing each item, allowing for accurate cost estimation and resource planning.

These were some of our flows to validade journey and backend possibilities, as well as gathering references from platforms they were already using:

As a result, here are some of the pages and features we built:
Starting with the projects page, where they could overview projects they are currently working for clients.

Next are the pages for Sales Orders and Work Orders, which are the pages managers spend most of their time on to overview the process of their manufacturing:

Task tracking dashboard to manage where employees' progresses:

A Kanban to track their design manufacturing process:
Last but not least, calendars for users and managers to track the orders of the day and week, as well as statuses.
